Juan Williams commentary on Fox News Sunday......

Juan is right we need to continue to profile 80 year old Japanese women and white men, that is the way to keep America and the West safe from radical Islamofacist terrorism...............wait, did I say radical Islamofacist terrorists?........hmmm there must be some unique indentifying characteristic physical feature of this group.........I wonder what it is?

While idiotic leftists try to tap dance around defining without verbally defining what those physical features are.........I'll say what they know, yet will not say.......let the racial profiling begin.

By the way, I am of Luxembourg / German descent; in the summer my skin tans quite dark. If I am profiled because of those dark features so be it, I have no problem with that. My guess is that only the guilty and idiotic lefty's have a problem with racial profiling.

Let's see if American Lung and RWJF lobby our MN. Lawmakers next session.....

....to ban education and health services funding, with a new statewide smoking ban.

You know they'll try......remember they get their multi-million dollar grants from Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical (RWJF, Nicoderm, Nicoderm CQ etc.) to lobby for smoking bans.

The Lung and other "non-profit" charities are more concerned with keeping big pharmaceutical money flowing into their coffers than keeping the MN. educational system funded.

Thanks to Freedom Dogs and the Taxpayers League of MN. for highlighting this issue.

RWJF, American Lung, American Cancer, Non-Smokers Rights.org, etc. happy to ban MN. educational and health funding, to keep their own pharmaceutical funding interests thriving.

........even if it seems unheard and ignored for months.

...In a sudden change of direction, Hennepin County moved closer Tuesday toward a partial rollback of a smoking ban....

a change in the Hennepin County smoking ban seems imminent, I should be happy however...

(I did title this post your voice does count, I must however, claim exception to that regarding the rest of this post. )*

I would like to have been there Tuesday for the Hennepin County Commission meeting, but I was in Hennepin County Family Court trying to resolve the reason I cannot pay child support..
(I filed for this hearing on April 28, 05; it finally gets heard July 26, 05...and of course it's not the court's fault for the 3 month delay and subsequent 3 months unpaid support...ie the court does not recognize this motion dated for 4/28/05 it recognizes the motion dated as 7/26/05...nice railroad job)

And what is that reason Marcus you didn't pay child support while waiting for this case to be heard...(picture the scene from Pink Floyd's The Wall with the judge pointing her bony little finger at the accused)

...um because of the smoking bans I CAN'T SELL SMOKEETERS TO BARS & RESTAURANTS, or more precisely bars & restaurants refuse to purchase air filtration equipment because of bans and the state's threat to ban, in other words I have no money coming in.

There is no discussion in court, there is the judge's ruling and that is that.....it is not required that the judge even be human, a robot could have provided the same recorded, rigid, unyielding ruling....the benefit of a robot at least is that some logic and common sense would have been utilized in determining the subsequent ruling....not likely with a matriarchal judge in family court....quite the contrary.

Isn't life grand....screwed by RWJF, American Lung, etc. out of a job.....then screwed in family court for being out of a job......

It's a good thing we conservatives are optimists........though the glass is now only about 10% full.

A bar / restaurant owner may still ban smoking in their own establishment, but that ought to be an economic decision.....not a government mandate.

Let us squash the anti-property rights people once and for all .........if only in this seemingly unimportant poll.

Smoking to be banned in your car......your house is next....

I first saw this story on Fox news with Shepard Smith, he was very obviously ticked off at this new level of intrusion. I sent the following email to him, which I hope begins a new level of investigative reporting against RWJF. RWJF and the non-profit charities which accept their money are going to be feeling heightened levels of scrutiny by the media as well as the general public.

I'll tell you what (specifically who) is behind the NJ bill to ban smoking behind the wheel - Robert Wood Johnson Foundation RWJF.

This story is worthy of a full investigative report. RWJF, based in NJ, has been silently funding smoking bans all around the country by quietly funneling $200,000,000.00+ thru charitable organizations like American Lung Assoc., American Cancer Society, American Medical Assoc. etc. who then lobby our lawmakers under the guise of health. But the real purpose is even more sinister -to increase Nicotrol, Nicoderm, Nicoderm CQ nicotine patch sales. You see RWJF owns 5.4 Billion dollars worth of Johnson & Johnson stock, Johnson & Johnson owns ALZA corp. in California where nearly all nicotine patches are manufactured. When smoking is banned sales of nicotine patches increase. When nicotine patch sales increase RWJF prospers, and more importantly Robert Wood Johnson IV prospers.

NASA taking pre-emptive action?

My father worked behind the scenes in a television control room in the late 60's to early 70's so I had an understanding of the differences between videotaped and live television feed at an early age. When I watched the moon landings I wondered how the live television footage we were watching was possible, rather than blindly accepting the pictures we were seeing as fact. I will admit I have questioned the ability of live television broadcasting from the moon in the early 70's. Afterall, the Moon is 384,400 km (or 238,855.086296 miles) away, and a high level of radiation separates that distance. We could get live television feed from the moon 238,855.086296 miles away, but were unable to get live television feed from Vietnam 8,000 miles away?

1966, 3-day-old film of Vietnam War appeared on nightly network news in USA.

1969, live television transmission of man first setting foot on the moon.

....Wideband technology still was primitive in the late '60s. Programs on videotape and film were rotated among detachments using a weekly film flight and postal mail. ....... Troops watched favorite stateside series such as Bonanza, Mission Impossible, Gunsmoke, Laugh-In and Hawaii Five-O..... Tape-delayed NFL football games and the ever-popular Roller Derby were other highlights...

I never really questioned the validity of the moon landings though, until this curious pre-emptive email from NASA.

Though I still don't care enough about the subject to consider myself a conspiracy theorist......me thinks thou dost protest too much.

Filtration not Legislation

The justification behind secondhand smoke legislation is the safeguard of employee health first, and the health of patrons second. Ultimately the customer spends less time in the establishment than the employees, so their risk is less significant.

I would like to present a solution with a proven result. This solution ensures that the secondhand smoke concentrations are far below health hazard levels as permitted and regulated by the leading government authority on safeguarding employee health – OSHA.
Filtration not Legislation maintains strict health standards. And it allows businesses to be part of the solution, instead of victims of legislation.

The city of Saint Louis Park, MN tested the air quality in all 19 bar/restaurants in 2003-2004 through its Environmental Health Department. Three of those establishments have Smokeeter electro-static precipitator filtration equipment. The TGI Friday’s, Applebee’s and Santorini’s. In the case of Applebee’s the test result concentration showed 3.3 micrograms/cu m (0.0000033 g/ c. M) which is 150 times lower (safer than) OSHA permissible exposure limits for nicotine secondhand smoke. While in the case of Santorini’s the health department result came in 174 times safer than OSHA regulations.

The significance of the city of Saint Louis Park, MN. test result is that it does not come from pharmaceutical nicotine interests, nor tobacco industry interests, not even from air filtration industry interests. Rather, it comes from a government health department whose real motive was to prove how hazardous secondhand smoke was, when what it really proves is quite the contrary.

This has been around before but it is worth reading again

Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this! To anyone with kids of any age, here's some advice.

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 1 0: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Debtors prison is alive and well?....

I haven't had the ability lately to update this blog, nor may not for a few days. The smoking ban and loss of sales has caused a new wrinkle for me....a Hennepin County family court judge wants to see me behind bars for being unemployed. I had a court date to reduce child support until I find a way to make a new living, and on the way to court I had a tire blowout.....Apparently that is not a good enough excuse for missing the hearing which I requested. Bench warrant for blown tire, let that be a lesson to all.....emergncies are no excuse in the judicial system. On the lamb, borrowing computers where I can. (Line breaks don't seem to work on this computer.)

Do the ends justify the means?

Raising taxes is a bad idea if your a good conservative. Good economic growth is already providing an 8% revenue growth without raising taxes; but that's a concept foreign to liberal minds. Like doubting Thomas if they and everyone else, don't feel the pinch in their paycheck they don't believe revenue collections have increased.

That having been said I have a difficult time condemning the new proposal to balance the State budget and help get those non-essential employees back on the dole..... the dreaded cigarette tax "fee". Especially if that tax is earmarked for education as I hope it will be. Because then I believe it will be near impossible for Meslow / Latz, or whomever the new anti-property rights legislator will be, who tries to cut education spending next year in the form of a smoking ban.

It will cost smokers more....but at least they'll be allowed to smoke at the bar and consider all the good they're doing for our overpriced educational system.

....Dick Franson was one of the first to file as candidate for Minneapolis Mayor, attempting to unseat our fair and delicate R.T. Rybak.

....his campaign slogan will be "Taxpayers must rise up and clean house and defeat all 13 council members and milque-toast Mayor R.T. Rybak" because of the recently enacted smoking ban on bars and restaurants.

He's got my support, and I'm sure he's no slouch on crime like Rybak and his new "pal" Chief McManus

Bar & restaurant owners are courting McLaughlin for mayor because they think as Hennepin County Commissioner he may change his vote on the smoking ban.....hey, wake up folks he voted for the ban to begin with.....if bar / restaurant owners had any common sense they would demand McLaughlin change his vote today.....or throw 100% support & money to Franson.

Why is a pharmaceutical company funding smoking bans all around the country?

You guessed it, it's all about the money they'll make in return.....selling alternative nicotine products.

Meanwhile our politicians are duped, wittingly or not, and thousands of people are put out of jobs, by the exaggerations from the non-profits; American Lung, American Cancer, American Non-Smokers Rights Foundation, American Medical Association; nearly every university in the country including the U of M, etc.; all of whom have accepted hundreds of millions of dollars in lobbying money from the very same pharmaceutical nicotine affiliated Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

While the reality about secondhand smoke has been proven by a local health department to be 150 times safer than OSHA regulations require.

As I have stated in an earlier post, the founder of RWJF (the source of hundreds of millions of dollars for smoking bans) was none other than the founder of Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical; but the ties to the pharmaceutical industry don't end there.

Johnson is active in a wide range of civic and philanthropic activities related to improving health care. (Philanthropic?....like contributing to RWJF, so they can fund more smoking bans?)Robert E. Campbell - Campbell is a retired vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical.George S. While the non-profits, and our local government officials are serving as pawns to their master.ALZA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson Co...........ALZA developed products have provided therapy for millions of patients throughout the world. ........including transdermal (D-TRANS).......which has found applications in many widely used pharmaceutical products, such as ..... NicoDerm CQ (nicotine)............. via site-specific targeting.ALZA is the connection which proves Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical still makes a profit selling pharmaceutical nicotine products. An especially lucrative business after smoking bans are implemented. J & J acquired Alza in 2001.

Update: With J & J 's aquisition of Pfizer Consumer Health, Johnson & Johnson Co. and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation now realize additional smoking ban profits from the sales of alternative nicotine products Nicorette, Nicotrol, Commit, as well as Nicoderm and Nicoderm CQ. Using J & J's $50 billion dollar annual coffers and RWJF's $5.4 billion+ resources, investing a mere couple hundred million $$ to pass smoking bans is an investment that pays dividends as this story demonstrates.

Update: RWJF financial holdings include but not limited to 80,499,208 and 86,853,208 shares of Johnson & Johnson Common Stock in 2003 and 2002, respectively. This information is found on page 8 of 2004 financials for Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. At today's Johnson & Johnson price per share 67.36, that's just a shade over $5.4 billion dollars, pretty good justification for exaggerating about the health risks regarding secondhand smoke to local lawmakers. But does it justify lawmakers believing in those lies?
