Here's the real paydirt for RWJF and the Johnson & Johnson Company
This financial grant from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to the CDC is apparently to influence the CDC and officials. So you can be assured when RWJF needed the CDC to promote policies that benefit RWJF / J&J like allowing the tobacco Master Settlement funds to pay for smoking cessation products such as Nicoderm and Nicoderm CQ.....both products are manufactured by the Johnson & Johnson Company's subsidiary ALZA, the CDC will be only too happy to help. And it is important to remember RWJF was founded by the Johnson & Johnson Company. And since RWJF provides the funding for smoking bans, based on the belief that a certain percentage of smokers will quit, they have expanded their market potential for further sales of pharmaceutical nicotine products. Making the RWJF motive for funding smoking bans one that is based on profit, not facts about secondhand smoke. (RWJF is the single largest shareholder of J & J stock, $5.4 billion worth)
