Phillip Morris 3rd quarter profits up 20.6% despite smoking ban agenda to reduce tobacco use

Cigarette manufacturer Philip Morris International Inc. (PM: News ), spun-off of from tobacco company Altria Group Inc. (MO: News ), announced Wednesday morning that its third quarter profit rose 20.6% from the year-ago quarter

The other stated agenda by smoking ban activist groups is to increase business for the hospitality industry......but that's proving to be a grossly exaggerated side effect of the business crippling legislation as well.

Perhaps the real legacy of smoking ban legislation was eliminating successful businesses and jobs, and provoking the home foreclosure crisis.
