Smoking ban activist admits spreading incorrect information.........or what you and I might call.....a lie.
Pat Lindsey director of the St. Louis University, MO. Tobacco Prevention Center was interviewed on television recently stating that secondhand smoke contained asbestos. The statement now has been corrected, but only after numerous emails and calls to inform the media of the blatant lie.And the fact remains that mainstream media is so eager to demonize secondhand smoke, that it is quite possible that if Dr. Siegel had not pointed out this egregious lie.....it would not be corrected at all.
The game at play now seems to be, let's see which smoking ban organization can get the most media attention by spreading the biggest lie.
Meanwhile, even less likely to be acknowledged by the media is the fact that secondhand smoke levels indoors were found to be up to 25,000 times safer than OSHA regulations.....by the American Cancer Society no less! The activists are sure going to have to fabricate a few whoppers to overshadow this study.....but just you watch.
