That's gotta hurt....
....in case anyone locally missed it, the Taxpayer's League aired a commercial during Gov. Pawlenty's radio show this morning which took aim at Pawlenty's proposal of raising the cigarette "fee", known to the common folk as a "tax".In the ad President David Strom points out that $1.60 per pack is already paid by smokers to the state in taxes, yet smokers only cost the state $0.43 per pack in health costs. In other words MN. smokers are paying more than their fare share, they are not a cost to society, but rather a contributor to society.
Ouch.....let's see how the non-profits try to spin this.
