That doesn't seem possible though does it? I mean the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) funded at least one lobbyist (TobaccoScamUSCSF) to 'educate' hospitality owners that smoking bans are a boon for business.

Btw, Pierre's Restaurant in Morristown, NJ, which is featured in the pdf above promoting smoking bans as 'good for business' went out of business in 2009 according to comments on this website.
Who funded TobaccoScamUSCSF.edu? .....the Nicoderm, Nicorette, Nicotrol benefactor RWJF of course.......gee we wonder why they would do such a thing?

In fact RWJF president Dr. Risa LaVizzo Mourey writes here that they (smoking bans) have been good for business.
And she continues: In the case of clean indoor air, good public health leads to good
business. The Zagat survey finds that New York restaurant-goers are
eating out and spending more than they were two years ago and that
restaurant openings have far exceeded closings.
New York's experience mirrors that of many states and municipalities
around the country that have instituted smoke-free workplace laws. .....numerous independent, objective and peer-reviewed
studies of smoke-free restaurant laws show there is no long-term
negative impact on restaurant sales or employment from smoke-free laws.
The lobbying activity by RWJF above is/ was blatantly false and misleading information plain and simple as we now know:

And should allow the tens perhaps hundreds of thousands of hospitality owners, employees, suppliers etc. to hold RWJF and its surrogates responsible for promoting lies that led to financial ruin.
